My Lip Care Essentials

I’m the type of person where if I’m having a bad day, I’ll go pick out a new lipstick. My lips are my feature I like to play up to stand out! But wearing products on your lips can dry them out and these two products I’m blogging about today are my “lip care” essentials.

I NEVER leave the house without lip balm! I’m obsessed; I hate the feeling of dry tight lips. This product from Fresh is the best I’ve found on the market. I purchased this Sugar Advanced Therapy from Sephora, it costs $26.00, but it truly lasts well over a year. It’s a clear balm in a stick form and smells/tastes like sweet lemonade. When you apply it, it feels like a rich lip treatment. My lips feel fuller, soft, moisturized, and smooth; all the tiny lines in your lips disappear. The moisture lasts all day so you don’t have to reapply. It’s a great primer or before step to applying lip color because it makes your lips look so smooth and full, plus you won’t need to apply as much lipstick or lip liner. After brushing my teeth, I apply this to work its magic all night. The way I look at it, you wear moisturizer and eye cream to prevent wrinkles and take care of your face, your lips are no different and should be well taken care of also. Fresh makes really great products, I’ve also been using their Seaberry moisturizing face oil for almost a year now and it’s wonderful! I’m hoping to get one of their holiday sets this Christmas with more to try!

Popcorn Lip Scrub is another tried-and-true favorite Lush product of mine. I was skeptical because I’m not too crazy about the smell of popcorn, especially when I was pregnant. But to me this scrub doesn’t smell like popcorn, it just smells like sugar with a hint of butter. Your lips need to be exfoliated just as your face does, it removes all the dead skin buildup and helps cell turnover, which means smooth and healthy lips. This scrub is my favorite because it’s so gentle, smells amazing, and a little goes a long way; you actually can even eat it. How I apply is I take a little pinch and massage in circular motions on my lips for about a minute, you don’t need to press hard. It can be a little messy so start off with a little bit and then add more as needed! I like to let it sit then for another minute to let the jojoba oil and coconut oil replenish. Then I just rinse it off and pat dry with a towel and follow up with the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy mentioned above. I use this to exfoliate about 2x a week, or if my lips are super dry from matte lipsticks. If you purchase the full size of 0.8 oz it costs $10.95, however whenever I go into Lush for a Fresh Face Mask or bath bomb, I will just ask for a sample of the popcorn lip scrub to take home and it’s free :)
